Biography: Martin Foote is a gifted guitarist from the Blue Mountains of NSW who plays with a passion and flair that turns heads whenever he takes the stage.

Martin grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar at the age of ten, learning from his father, Nigel, who gave him a strong foundation in fingerpicking styles and encouraged him to play at 'Full Moon Folk' nights – family house concerts.

At seventeen, Martin met guitarists, Joe Robinson and Michael Fix, as they passed through the Blue Mountains on tour. Captivated by the performances of these brilliant players, Martin discovered they were both strongly influenced by Tommy Emmanuel, the legendary Australian guitarist who has inspired so many.

Martin immediately began studying every Tommy Emmanuel DVD, CD, book and video clip he could get his hands on. He also sought out and attended a Tommy Emmanuel workshop and two residential guitar camps which culminated in a duo performance of Classical Gas with Tommy, himself.

A sampling of Martin's performances include: Sydney Blues & Roots Festival / Tamworth Country Music Festival / 'Sounds of Sculpture' exhibition, Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney / Beach Hotel, Byron Bay / Horizon Festival, Sydney / Hunters Hill Club, Sydney / Australian Citizenship Ceremonies for Blue Mountains City Council / Katoomba RSL Club / Blue Mountains Folk Club / Winter Magic Festival, Katoomba, where Martin won the busking competition, the prize being a day's recording at Songcave Studios, which resulted in his first CD.

Martin released his debut album, 'Moving On' at the 2018 Blue Mountains Music Festival.
